Spirit Lake Health Center

Sheila Lindgren

PA-C

Each person is a unique individual with their own energy, personality, and life experiences, and therefore, I take an individualized approach to providing psychiatric care.

I was born and raised in North Dakota. I lived out of state for a few years while getting work experience and attending graduate school, and gladly returned to ND when I began practicing as a PA. I am married and have 3 sons. Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with family/friends, being outside/in my garden, exercising, hiking, and traveling.

Experiences:

  • Prior to going to PA school, I worked in both inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation. My first job out of PA school was in primary care in Rolla. I then worked at the Lake Region Human Service Center specializing in psychiatry for 7 years before coming out to Spirit Lake Behavioral Health in August 2021.

Education:

  • I received my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from NDSU.

  • I completed my Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Touro University – Nevada.

License/Certificates:

  • PA-C (Physician Assistant-Certified) – initial certification obtained in 2012. I passed my recertification exam in 2018.
  • CAQ – Psychiatry (Certification of Additional Qualification in Psychiatry) – initial certification in 2015. I will take the recertification examination this year (2025).

Services Provided:

  • I provide psychiatric services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management for mental health conditions and substance use disorders, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
